Our 2 apartments, the Belvedere and the Continental, are set in the historic thermal spa town of Cauterets in the Vallee de Cauterets in the heart of the Hautes Pyrenees (the High Pyrenees).
Cauterets is a lively all-seasons resort and is set within a Pyrenees National Park. Cauterets is a prosperous town with several fine late 19th century and early 20th century architecture on display. It is a stone’s throw from the Pont d’Espagne where Cauterets has its own cross country ski station. Awe inspiring mountain sights and walks are all around with fantastic skiing, on piste and off, available during the winter months. After Spring the waterfalls on the way up to Pont d’Espagne are a stunning experience not to be missed. From Pont d’Espagne it is an hours walk up to the glacial Lac de Gaube (1,725 metres) and a view of Vignemale, which at 3,298 metres is the highest peak in the French Pyrenees. |
Cauterets is the biggest town of the 3 ski stations within an hour of each other, the other 2 being Luz Ardiden and Gavarnie Gedre. It has over 30 restaurants, more than 10 bars (open late), its own market, caves (wine cellars), ice skating rink, casino and thermal spas. ;)

A day trip can also be arranged to ski the off-piste only descent from the famous Pic du Midi de Bigorre at 2,872 metres. Before your descent lunch al fresco overlooking the spectacular snow drenched mountains with views, on a clear day, of one-tenth of all France. Truly an unforgettable experience.
